Indian thespian Anupam Kher's directorial venture 'Tanvi The Great' will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival's Marché du Film.

The Cannes unveiling marks the beginning of an international rollout, as the production team has scheduled subsequent screenings across major global cities including London, New York, and Los Angeles, strategically expanding the film’s reach to worldwide audiences. Kher, one of Indian cinema’s most prolific character actors, made his directorial debut with the 2002 feature “Om Jai Jagadish,” a family drama headlined by Waheeda Rehman, Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan and Abhishek Bachchan. Internationally, Kher found steady footing in Hollywood with roles in features such as “Silver Linings Playbook,” “The Big Sick” and “Hotel Mumbai.” His performance as Dr. Kapoor in NBC’s medical drama “New Amsterdam” introduced him to a broader American television audience, while he scored a BAFTA nomination for the BBC’s “The Boy with the Topknot.”
