An Antiques Roadshow guest was stunned by the value of a display case that once held a single bottle of the world's most expensive whisky.

In a repeated episode which was broadcast on BBC One on Sunday, the owner of the case brought the item in to be looked at by expert Marc Allum at Brodie Castle and Estate in Scotland. The Macallan Valerio Adami 1926 was produced in 1986, and elegantly presented in a specially commissioned cabinet or Tantalus, based on the traditional 'Brass and Glass' distillery spirit safe. Valerio Adami, born in 1935, is an Italian artist famous for painting bold, flat forms outlined in thick, black lines, in a style reminiscent of comic art.
