The Elevation star takes responsibility for the success of one of Hollywood's most beloved leading men, he reveals in a new video interview with Entertainment Weekly. Mackie is correct in asserting Half Nelson's importance to Gosling's success, however, as it earned him his first Oscar nomination and was the first performance for which he received widespread critical acclaim.
