Anthony Anderson’s Journey From ‘Black-ish’ to Hosting the 2023 Emmys
Anthony Anderson will host the 2024 Emmys this year after receiving 11 nominations for his work on 'Black-ish.'
Anderson has long been a champion of onscreen representation, expressing that he “never wanted to be just an actor,” but a changemaker in a 2015 op-ed he penned for Variet y. “When you look at America as a whole, everyone from every walk of life is living in this melting pot, but when you look at television, it isn’t a true or complete representation of what our society is,” Anderson wrote. When Fox asked me to host this historic telecast, I was over the moon that Taylor Swift was unavailable, and now I can’t wait to be part of the biggest night in television.”
