Ant and Dec reveal real reason they're ending Saturday Night Takeaway
Ant and Dec are bringing their much-loved ITV series Saturday Night Takeaway to an end with the upcoming 20th series, revealing that they want to "pause" it and focus on family
The pair were in their late twenties when Saturday Night Takeaway first aired live on ITV1 in 2002, bringing their celebrity pranks, big prize competitions and pre-recorded sketches to our screens. As for the latest and potentially last series, fans can expect lots of “nostalgia” as the pair look back on the show’s history – including one of its very first Ant & Dec Undercover segments with Britain’s Got Talent’s Simon Cowell. Having tricked stars such as Lorraine Kelly, Amanda Holden and Bradley Walsh in the past, Ant and Dec are worried a celebrity may take their revenge in the new series.
