In June 2025, fans, friends, family and members of the restaurant community mourned the shocking death of Anne Burrell, who was found unresponsive in her Brooklyn, New York, apartment at 55 years old. Burrell — who is survived by her mother, Marlene, and sister, Jane, as well as her husband, whom she married in October 2021, and his son, Javier — has been honored by several celebrity friends and fellow chefs in the wake of her death.
