After serving as Vogue’s editor in chief for 37 years, Anna Wintour announced she will step down, continuing as Vogue’s global editor

Wintour, 75, announced in a staff meeting that she will be stepping down from Vogue and seeing a new head of editorial content on Thursday, June 25, per WWD. Her first celebrity cover was Madonna in 1989, and she later showcased Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and more. Through the years, Wintour has been candid about her love for the gala, most recently discussing how moving the 2025 “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” event was.
