Anna Richardson claims Britain 'doesn't give a s**t about the elderly' after her father Jim, 83, was diagnosed with dementia - as she prepares to front hard-hitting new documentary about the disease
One in three people will be diagnosed with it during their lifetime, and her father is one of the unlucky ones to be battling it.
It has inspired the TV presenter, 54 - who is known for hosting Supersize vs Superskinny and Naked Attraction- to make a moving documentary on the subject. The support on offer, Anna says, is not good enough for her father, an intelligent member of the clergy, who does not want to join patronising tea parties to feel better. Dementia is an umbrella term used to describe a range of progressive neurological disorders (those affecting the brain) which impact memory, thinking and behaviour.
