Animal Collective will release a new live album as part of a special 20th anniversary reissue of their 2004 LP, Sung Tongs, out Oct. 4 via Domino. Sung Tongs was a critically-acclaimed indie hit upon its release in 2004 and helped cement Animal Collective’s place as one of the most exciting and inventive groups of the new millennium. In its original review, Rolling Stone called Sung Tongs “one of the more creative and accomplished records you’ll hear this year,” filled with myriad reference points but still “its own creature” with “plenty of virtuosity and flair.”
