Angus MacInnes Dies: ‘Star Wars’ Actor Was 77


Angus MacInnes, a Canadian actor who appeared in 1977's Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope and 2016's Rogue One, died Dec. 23. He was 77.

MacInnes’ career spanned decades, most notably featuring roles within the galaxy far, far away, as Gold Leader and Jon “Dutch” Vander. In addition to the George Lucas-created franchise, MacInnes’ other credits include Witness(with Harrison Ford), the Tom Hanks historical thriller Captain Phillips, dystopian sci-fi movie Judge Dredd, Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy and a minor part in Stanley Kubrick’s magnum opus Eyes Wide Shut. MacInnes made his foray into film with an uncredited role in 1975’s sports sci-fi drama Rollerball, starring James Caan.
