Andrea Nelson Meigs Departing As UTA Partner
Talent and literary agent Andrea Nelson Meigs will be leaving UTA at the end of the year. She is expected to take a hiatus.
In an internal memo this morning about Nelson Meigs’ departure, a copy of which was obtained by Deadline, Hart and Gassner hailed her as “a trailblazer, breaking ground for many,” adding, “She has trained several assistants, now Presidents of Production, and amplifies important and diverse voices, particularly for women and people of color.” Nelson Meigs, who was a Los Angeles-based lawyer before beginning her career in entertainment, has represented actors, writers, musicians, producers, and directors over the years, making deals on their behalf in film, television, theater, branding, journalism, speaking, animation, and books. Among the clients she has worked with at UTA as well as ICM are Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Courtney B. Vance, Ellen Burstyn, Quvenzhane Wallis, Aunjanue Ellis and Jill Scott.
