Andor’s Adria Arjona Doesn’t See Bix As a Victim

“She’s not a weak character. A lot of things happen to her, but she keeps standing up.”

She’s able to fend him off, but the moment, which is appropriately terrifying in its depiction of the assailant’s odious abuse of power and the violence of their struggle, shocked some viewers. The incident, combined with the character’s earlier sonic torture at the hands of the goulish Imperial scientist Dr. Ghorst in season one, has her plagued by nightmares and self-medicating with drugs while she’s essentially trapped in a Coruscant safe house. Yet even as Bix seems to be an avatar for all the suffering and trauma the Star Wars galaxy has to offer, Arjona is adamant that her character is not a victim.
