American Music Awards to Mark 50th Anniversary With TV Special, Award Ceremony Set for Return in 2025

After not being held in 2023, the AMAs will also not hand out awards in 2024.

This special event celebrates the AMAs' 50th anniversary and signifies the beginning of a new partnership between them and CBS, which has also taken over airing DCP’s Golden Globe Awards. The American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special honors five decades of iconic moments, unforgettable performances, and rich pop culture history. According to CBS and Dick Clark Productions, the program will feature themed highlights from the AMAs’ expansive show archives, each culminating in an original performance or artist interview.
