American Dad!’s Future TBD as TBS’ Run of Originals Nears Its End

American Dad is on the move again: After leaving Fox for TBS a decade ago, the Seth MacFarlane comedy is eyeing a return to its former broadcast home.

While reruns of past seasons will continue to be shown on TBS (and Adult Swim) through 2030, sources confirm that the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned cable channel will no longer serve as the destination for first-run episodes. It was the last scripted original to air on TBS; its most recent two-season renewal was handed out by the previous regime ahead of the WBD merger in 2022. “centers on super patriotic CIA agent Stan Smith and the misadventures of his unconventional family in Langley Falls, Va.,” per the official logline.
