AMC, Dolby Ink deal to fuel expansion with 40 additional Dolby Cinema at AMC locations
“For a decade, AMC and Dolby have provided moviegoers with incredible premium experiences – making the biggest blockbusters even bigger, brighter, louder, and more immersive,” said Adam Aron, chairman and CEO of AMC Entertainment, in a released statement. Upcoming Dolby Cinema releases include “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” “Karate Kid: Legends,” “F1,” “Jurassic World Rebirth” and “Avatar: Fire and Ash.” Over the past five years, 49 of the top 50 theatrical titles were shown in Dolby Cinema, the companies report. Last week Dolby and projector maker Christie announced that they co-developed a new version of Dolby Vision laser projection systems, which will debut at CinemaCon, which opens today in Las Vegas.
