Amber Ruffin to Headline White House Correspondents’ Dinner
Amber Ruffin, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" writer, will be this year's White House Correspondents Dinner entertainer.
“When I began to think about what entertainer would be a perfect fit for the dinner this year, Amber was immediately at the top of my list,” Eugene Daniels, White House Correspondents’ Association president and Politico reporter, said in a statement. Ruffin, known for writing for “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and appearing with Roy Wood Jr. and Michael Ian Black on comedy program “Have I Got News For You,” will be roasting political figures in attendance. This dinner is about centering the importance of a functioning democracy and Amber is the type of entertainer who understands both the significance of that mission as well as the mechanics of power in this country.”
