Amazon MGM Confirms Development On ‘The Sims’ Movie From ‘Loki’ Helmer Kate Herron
'The Sims' Movie rumored to be in development at Amazon MGM Studios is now officially a go, the studio has announced.
Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed it’s developing a feature adaptation of The Sims gaming franchise around six months after word of the project began to circulate. Amazon MGM isn’t the first studio to attempt a feature adaptation, as 20th Century Fox snapped up film rights to the game in 2007, though the project never came to fruition. For LuckyChap, The Sims continues a partnership with Amazon MGM Studios which has most recently led to the September 13 release of My Old Ass, the acclaimed Sundance title from writer-director Megan Park.
