Amanda Seyfried Says There’s “Fatigue With Sequels” That Are “Just For Money,” Though She’d Do ‘Mamma Mia! 3’ “In A Heartbeat”

Amanda Seyfried is a bit tired of the sequel-churning going on in Hollywood — but she would return 'in a heartbeat' for 'Mamma Mia! 3.'

During a new Q&A between herself and Rachel Brosnahan for Interview magazine, the latter — who will portray Lois Lane to David Corenswet’s in James Gunn’s forthcoming take on the alien superhero — theorized what the blockbuster crossover equivalent to “Barbenheimer” would be, as Summer 2025 will also feature Jurassic World Rebirth and Fantastic Four, both prominent IP. Based on the Tony-nominated ABBA jukebox musical, the 2008 comedy follows Sophie (Seyfried) as she prepares for her wedding at her mother Donna’s (Meryl Streep) hotel on the Greek island Kalokairi. What Donna doesn’t know is that Sophie has invited three of her exes (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgård) in hopes that one of them is the father she has never met and will walk her down the aisle.
