Amanda Seyfried ‘Got the Offer’ for Gamora but Thought It’d Be Marvel’s First Flop and ‘I’d Never Work Again’: ‘It’s About a Talking Tree and Raccoon’

Amanda Seyfried got offered Gamora but was certain "Guardians of the Galaxy" would be Marvel's first box office flop.

Amanda Seyfried was the latest guest on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast and said that she actually had the offer from James Gunn and Marvel Studios to play Gamora in the “ Guardians of the Galaxy ” franchise. Seyfried admitted she was “way too scared” to take a chance on “Guardians,” which ended up being a break out hit for Marvel Studios in 2013 with $773 million at the worldwide box office. “I was at a precarious moment in my career and I didn’t want to suffer for the work,” Seyfried added about being resistant to the makeup process.
