Alison Hammond in final talks to take over as host of beloved Paul O'Grady show

This Morning presenter Alison Hammond is reportedly set to take over one of ITV's hit shows, which used to be hosted by Paul O'Grady before his tragic death last year

The programme, which is centred around the running of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London first aired in 2012, was presented by the late, great Paul O'Grady until his untimely death last year. However, a source told The Mirror that while Paul is obviously irreplaceable, ITV believes that Alison will bring some of the late presenter's "trademark self-deprecating humour to proceedings." ITV execs think that Alison would be the perfect candidate for the role (Image: Ken McKay/ITV/REX/Shutterstock)In terms of who else was considered to reignite the show after Paul O'Grady's passing, it's been revealed that three other major household names were approached.
