Alfonso Cuarón Talks Rare Foray Into TV With Venice Series ‘Disclaimer’ Starring Cate Blanchett & Kevin Kline: “We Approached This Whole Thing As A Film”

The show marks Cuarón’s first directorial credit since his 2019 Best Picture Oscar winner Roma and a rare foray into TV. As Catherine races to uncover the writer’s true identity, she is forced to confront her past before it destroys both her own life and her relationships with her husband Robert (Cohen) and their son Nicholas (Smit-McPhee). He revealed it was Blanchett who had suggested Kline for the professor role after a conservation about A Fish Called Wanda at a dinner party in New York.
