Alexander Skarsgård used to weep in the shower after bad auditions: 'I just felt filthy in my soul'
Even a tough military veteran like Alexander Skarsgard would find himself sobbing during the Hollywood audition process.
The Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG Award-winning performer confessed that he had some lean years in Hollywood prior to landing his breakthrough part on Generation Kill, even after he'd already been in the hit comedy Zoolander. "I found those experiences — they were horrible — when you go in for something that you know you're not right for, and you're not connecting with a character at all, but you're at a place where you feel like you can't say no to the audition," the actor, who also served in the Swedish Navy, recalled. He's also set to appear in Charli XCX's pop star mockumentary The Moment, though the specifics of his role are currently unclear.
