Albert Serra’s San Sebastián Winner ‘Afternoons Of Solitude’ Gets North American Deal
The bullfighting doc won the top prize at Spain's leading film festival.
In Afternoons Of Solitude, Serra trains a patient and poetic lens on the pomp and devastating brutality of bullfighting via a portrait of the charismatic Peruvian-born star torero Andrés Roca Rey. Serra’s first feature documentary premiered at the 2024 San Sebastián International Film Festival, where it won the Golden Shell. “We are thrilled to be working once again with Albert Serra on his extraordinary new film,” commented Ryan Krivoshey, “ Afternoons Of Solitude is a bold and visionary masterpiece.
