This same weather pattern is set to bring chilly conditions to the UK, with snow predicted to fall across much of northern Scotland, some areas around the Scottish Borders and over the Pennines. Weather charts show a mid-Atlantic ridge forming around this time, increasing the chance of cold air being brought down from the Arctic circle, reports the Mirror.
