Picture Slam and Password star Alan Carr opened up about how he struggled to deal with the loss of his beloved dog – and the shocking health consequences for the comedian

In 2022, the comedian's ex-husband, Paul Drayton, shared the heartbreaking news on social media that they had to make the difficult decision to put their cherished pet to sleep. However, the 48 year old funnyman – who's back on TV with the quiz shows Alan Carr's Picture Slam and Password – revealed that his grief over losing Bev was so overwhelming that he didn't realise he had contracted salmonella poisoning. In Alan Carr's Picture Slam, on BBC 1 on Saturday, 28 September at 5.30pm contestants must correctly identify the images on a board for the chance to win £10,000.
