The Today news anchor, who became a “ pop-pop ” in July 2023 when daughter Courtney Roker Laga, 37, gave birth to baby girl Sky Lara, shared with PEOPLE how he's going to take advantage of the leeway grandparents get as opposed to when they're parents. He then explains how being a grandparent "outranks everything," including breaking the rules, "Because then I leave." Roker, who's a dad to Courtney with his ex-wife Alice Bell, and shares daughter Leila, 25, and son Nick, 22, with wife Deborah Roberts, recalls his own experience dealing with grandparent-induced sugar highs.
