Al Pacino was RELIEVED after he broke ankle on set of The Godfather amid fears he was going to be fired

Al Pacino was so anxious about the possibility of being fired from 1972's The Godfather that he secretly hoped his ankle injury on set would provide an opportunity to exit the film

Despite ultimately earning an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Michael Corleone in the 1972 classic, Pacino, 84, reflected on the studio executives' doubts about his suitability for the role in an excerpt from his upcoming memoir Sonny Boy. An Instagram video from the event captures the former couple—who welcomed their son, Roman, in 2023—sharing a tender moment as the Oscar-winning actor helped Noor blow out the candles on her birthday cake. Though he has never tied the knot, Pacino's romantic history includes high-profile relationships with several actresses, such as Diane Keaton, Jill Clayburgh, Penelope Ann Miller, and Kathleen Quinlan.
