Al Pacino Reveals The Role He Wished He Had Got An Oscar Nomination For


Al Pacino has talked 'The Godfather', 'Scarface' & 'Sonny Boy' on the BBC Today program this morning as he promotes his new book.

Pacino played Tony Montana in Brian De Palma’s movie, immortalizing the phrase “Say hello to my little friend.” Yet Scarface was completely snubbed by the Academy. Pacino made headlines over the weekend when an extract from the upcoming autobiography revealed how close he came to being fired from The Godfather, as he recalled how Paramount questioned whether he was right to play Michael Corleone in the feature adaptation of Mario Puzo’s book. Everything changed when director Francis Ford Coppola “put the gun in the toilet,” he added, a reference to the famous bathroom scene.
