Aishwarya Rai doesn't let injury get in the way of attending Cannes Film Festival as she touches down in France with her arm in a sling
Aishwarya still looked to be in good spirits with the sling on her arm as she smiled when making her way through the airport.
The Côte d´Azur festival, which kicked off Tuesday, is a 10-day ballet of spectacle and film where even the photographers wear tuxedos, standing ovations are timed with stopwatches and movies tend to be referred to by the names of their directors - 'the Almodóvar,' 'the Malick,' 'the Coppola.' After making a name with 2018's Capernaum, which earned her Golden Globe, BAFTA and Oscar nominations, Lebanese director and screenwriter Nadine Labaki, who has long had ties to Cannes, adds jury member to her list of accolades. Winner of the 2018 Palme d'Or for Shoplifters, which also nabbed an Oscar nomination, acclaimed Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda returns as a main competition jury member after his film Monster won best screenplay at last year's festival.
