Air Bud creator Kevin DiCicco is saved from being homeless thanks to a friend who has raised $11K for him in just a few days

Days ago it was reported that he was living at a homeless shelter and facing health problems when an old friend launched a GoFundMe in an effort to help.

DiCicco - who was the original owner of the star dog who played basketball in the film franchise - also told the publication that he is most relieved that he will no longer be unhoused as he is set to receive the funds sometime next week. While Buddy died in 1998 of synovial cell sarcoma, the Air Bud franchise remained a consistent content source for Disney through 2012, with DiCicco earning 11 credits for his creative contributions. DiCicco told Fox 5 San Diego in July that the financial arrangements with the Air Bud franchise was 'cleverly crafted to make sure that these films don’t really ever receive the big money.
