After binge-watching season three of The Bear, try...
With series three of hit culinary dramedy The Bear out tomorrow, fans of TV and cooking will have plenty to get their teeth into. But it's far from the only show about top chefs available to watch...
A spicy stew flavoured with hints of everything from The Bear and Boiling Point to (scarily) The Menu, this subtitled Thai film serves up a lot of familiar ideas about power-mad chefs and overheated emotions but it does so with such control and power that you happily lick the plate clean. The all-star voice cast also includes Ian Holm as rat-hating restaurant owner Skinner, Brian Dennehy as Remy's dad Django and Peter O'Toole as the cynical and easily displeased Anton Ego, who was inspired by French actor, theatre director and filmmaker Louis Jouvet. They commence the contest in a rather drab looking airline hangar (the food definitely takes top billing over the scenery there), but there's glamour before the end of part one as the contenders are whisked off to Turkey to continue the competition, before stops in Iceland, Croatia, Crete and Thailand later in the run.
