Aerosmith Retires From Touring, Says Steven Tyler's Voice Will Never Fully Recover

Aerosmith took to social media on Friday to share the 'heartbreaking' decision to retire from touring.

But after more than five decades, the band had to come to the decision to end its run due to the fact that Tyler, 76, cannot fully recover from his voice injury to continue. "His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care," Aerosmith said in a statement posted to the band's Instagram page. Tyler, who suffered his vocal injury while performing at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, added, "I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world."
