Adrien Brody Prays For “A Healthier, Happier And More Inclusive World” After Second Best Actor Win For ‘The Brutalist’
Adrien Brody won Best Actor at the 2025 Oscars for his role in 'The Brutalist,' speaking in his victory speech about the way back to a decent world.
Brody understands that winning an award like Best Actor can signify “a destination.” For him, however, it also feels like “a chance to begin again, and the opportunity to hopefully be fortunate enough for the next 20 years of my life that I can prove that I am worthy of such meaningful and important and relevant roles.” Brody went on to thank The Brutalist director Brady Corbet and his co-writer Mona Fastvold “for what you’ve done for independent film, and for your beautiful spirit, and for giving me space to exist in this triumph of a work,” as well as his fellow nominees and cast mates, his family, and others. Directed by Brady Corbet, The Brutalist tells the story of László Toth (Brody), a Hungarian immigrant and visionary architect, as he struggles to establish his legacy in postwar America.
