Adria Arjona(“Andor,” “Hit Man”) and Edgar Ramirez, the Golden Globe-nominated actor of “American Crime Story” and “Carlos,” have been tapped to star in “El Sombreron,” a dystopian thriller from Jayro Bustamante, the acclaimed director of “La Llorona” (2019) and “Ixcanul” (2015). Arjona’s past film credits include HBO’s “Father of the Bride,” Sony’s “Morbius,” Netflix’s “Sweet Girl,” “Six Underground” and “Triple Frontier,” Universal Pictures’ “Pacific Rim: Uprising,” and Warner Bros Pictures’ “Life of the Party.” Arjona’s past television credits include Hulu’s “Monsterland,’ NBC’s “Emerald City,” Netflix’s “Narcos,” HBO’s critically acclaimed “True Detective,” and Amazon/BBC’s miniseries “Good Omens.” Ramirez will next be seen in Jacques Audiard’s “Emilia Perez” opposite Zoe Saldana and Selena Gomez premiering in Competition at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
