Adam Peaty launches scathing attack on food in Olympic village after stomach-churning discovery
Adam Peaty has hit out at the 'dismal' food standards in the Olympic village in Tokyo, and says that some athletes have been finding worms in their fish
The 29-year-old silver medallist - who is dating chef Gordon Ramsay's daughter Holly- isn't alone in his dissatisfaction with the culinary offerings at the athletes' residence, which has become a contentious topic among competitors. Last week, reports surfaced of athletes' frustration over a lack of meat and eggs - key components of their protein-rich diets - as well as a shortage of bottled water, an essential in the sweltering Parisian heat. Furthermore, he expressed his disagreement with the organisers' decision to make 60 per cent of meals meatless and one-third plant-based, arguing that it hampers athletes' ability to maintain their usual diet.
