Adam McKay and Rainn Wilson Release ‘Game of Thrones’ Parody Video for #ImWithScience Campaign
Adam McKay's Yellow Dot Studios has teamed up with Rainn Wilson and the Game of Thrones cast for a parody video in support of their climate campaign.
In the four-minute video, titled “A Tale of Fire and Ice,” Wilson is a climate scientist brought in from the future to warn the Westeros Court, consisting of Queen Cersai (Lena Headey), Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) about the dangers of “Big Oil.” In his presentation, Wilson charts the effects of oil pollution since the creation of Exxon in the ’70s: “They bought the politicians and the media to spread lies about the very science that they knew to be true because….profit!” he rages to the unamused court. “Scientists don’t own TV News stations or have to ability to give televised speeches whenever they want,” McKay said in a statement .”But what they’re trying to tell us needs to be amplified and understood.
