Actor-Producer Esha Bargate Launches Production Company To Challenge How Hollywood See India
Actor-producer Esha Bargate is launching a company in San Francisco to challenge how Hollywood portrays and views Indian culture and society.
Esha Bargate Productions will be based in San Francisco, with a stated aim to bring stories from Southeast Asia into the international mainstream. The producer’s debut slate comprises Beginnings, a 30–45-minute episodic unscripted series; Trend Starters, a global challenge format in which young entrepreneurs compete in a battle of innovation and strategy; and Gray Skies, a short film about an eight-year-old Syrian refugee and a homeless U.S. veteran with PTSD that portrays the universal impact of trauma. “We offer distinctive content tailored for Western audiences, with the aim of engaging viewers in both North America and Southeast Asia,” said Bargate.
