ABC Developing High-Concept Medical Drama ‘Vital Signs’ From ‘Grand Hotel’ Creator Brian Tanen & Kapital
ABC, the network of Grey's Anatomy, is developing Vital Signs, a show about a fan of a Grey's-esque medical drama who gets to live in it.
The project, which attracted multiple offers before landing at ABC, comes from Grand Hotel creator/executive producer Brian Tanen, 20th Television and Kapital Entertainment. Written by Tanen, Vital Signs is described as a reinvention of the medical show that asks: what if your favorite TV escape became your reality? She wishes her dull, disappointing life was more like her favorite medical drama Vital Signs – where the characters are life-saving heroes with endlessly exciting love lives.
