Aaron Sorkin Is Writing Some Kind of ‘Social Network’ Sequel Because ‘I Blame Facebook For January 6’ Riot at the U.S. Capitol

Aaron Sorkin is writing a sequel to "The Social Network" and blames Facebook for the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Sorkin would not answer why he blamed Facebook for Trump supporters storming the U.S. Capitol, but he teased: “You’re going to need to buy a movie ticket.” Fincher spoke The Guardian last year and seemed conflicted about tackling Facebook and its parent company Meta in a new film, saying: “Aaron and I have talked about it, but, um … that’s a can of worms.” As for Eisenberg, who earned an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Zuckerberg, he’s long expressed an openness to reprising the role in a potential “Social Network” sequel.
