The hip-hop world was collectively turned upside down When Young Thug(born Jeffery Williams) along with 27 others were arrested in May 2022 as part of a sprawling 56-count indictment for violations of Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. Thugger was identified to be the leader of Young Stoner Life, which Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis believes is a violent street gang that has a history dating back to 2012 of committing a series of crimes including murder, robbery, theft, carjackings, assaults and more. Stephens — who also goes by Tick and Slug — identified himself, Young Thug and Walter Murphy as the founding members of YSL, though he gave the prosecution trouble while having a tough time recalling certain events when he took the stand on Jan. 3, 2024.
