A New 'Blair Witch Project' Is in the Works
Lionsgate is teaming up with Blumhouse to reimagine the 1999 cult classic horror film.
The original Blair Witch's found footage style was revolutionary at the time, and Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson said in a press release that the creative team is "thrilled to kick this partnership off with a new vision for Blair Witch that will reintroduce this horror classic for a new generation." I'm a huge admirer of The Blair Witch Project, which brought the idea of found footage horror to mainstream audiences and became a true cultural phenomenon. The Blair Witch Project earned $248 million and inspired hundreds of urban legend fan theories upon its release in 1999.
