After it's revealed that Sheridan Smith's comeback play is to close early, how she's become best friends with fellow actress and single mother Charley Webb who has been her 'rock'

It was just hours after it had been announced that the beleaguered production of Opening Night in London ’s West End, in which Sheridan plays alcoholic actress Myrtle Gordon, would be cut short by more than two months after theatregoers walked out of the show in droves. The pair have enjoyed cinema trips with their children, while Charley – who most recently starred as a police officer in ITV’s Yorkshire Ripper drama The Long Shadow – has also been in the audience at London’s Gielgud Theatre to support her friend in Opening Night. Sheridan is mother to three-year-old son Billy from her relationship with insurance broker Jamie Horn, and Charley is mum to three boys – Buster, Bowie and Ace – with her ex-husband and former soap co-star Matthew Wolfenden.
