‘Young Sheldon’ Spinoff in the Works at CBS, Focusing on New Parents Georgie and Mandy
CBS is near a deal with Warner Bros. TV for a direct-to-series order on a "Young Sheldon" spinoff focusing on the characters of Georgie and Mandy.
“Young Sheldon” executive producers Steve Holland, Steven Molaro and Chuck Lorre would be behind the spinoff series as well, and are expected to write the first episode together. Now, it looks like there is reason for viewers to expect more Cooper family tales, as a spinoff bridges a bit more of the gap between “Young Sheldon” and “The Big Bang Theory” timelines. With both “Young Sheldon” and “Bob Hearts Abishola” leaving the air this spring as they wrap their final seasons, there was a chance that CBS might be without a Lorre show for the first time in decades.
