‘Yellowstone’ Season 5 Part 2 Teaser: Rip and Beth Return, FBI Agents Launch Raid and Kevin Costner Bows Out
The long-awaited second part of "Yellowstone' Season 5 is coming soon — with no Kevin Costner returning.
Last December, it was reported that lead star Kevin Costner would be exiting “Yellowstone,” choosing to focus on directing his two-part Western film “Horizon.” In June, he confirmed his departure ahead of the premiere of “Horizon: Part One,” which was a disappointment at the box office. The actor claimed that he should have still received $12 million for the second half of Season 5 due to a “pay or play” clause, noting that the “long, hard-found negotiation” led to his exit. Planning for its post-“Yellowstone” future, Paramount greenlit a contemporary series spinoff, titled “The Madison,” which has Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox, Elle Chapman and Beau Garrett in its cast.
