'Wicked' stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were paid the same salary. There were false reports of difference of pay.
Such is the exclamation from a Universal Pictures spokesperson pouring cold water on rumors that were spurred by a Reddit post claiming that the Wicked stars, Arina Grande and Cynthia Erivo, had a great gap in their paychecks. Those false reports said that the pop superstar Grande collected $15M for her work on the Jon M. Chu blockbuster which is hitting $180M worldwide running tally, while Erivo received $1M. “Both of us made the decision and have had the discussion about really being good to each other, making space for each other, being honest with each other and choosing to build our friendship,” Erivo told Gomez.
