‘Wicked’ Gets Peacock Streaming Release Date
“Wicked,” the year’s biggest musical, gets a Peacock streaming release date.
Directed by Jon M. Chu (“Crazy Rich Asians,” “In the Heights,”), the musical is an adaptation of the beloved Broadway hit that tells the story of what happened before “The Wizard of Oz.” Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater and Peter Dinklage also star in this story about female friendship, corrupt power and the magic that can be found in people. In his positive review for Variety, film critic Peter Debruge said “Wicked” has “found its ideal form, where every frame comes crammed with the kind of detail that could easily have been distracting, had a lesser talent than Cynthia Erivo been asked to carry it.”
