‘True Detective: Night Country’ Edges Season 1 To Become Series’ Most Watched Installment
True Detective: Night Country has become the most watched season of the crime anthology series with 12.7 million cross-platform viewers.
A lot has changed since True Detective starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson ran in 2014, breaking records as the most watched freshman season of an HBO series since Six Feet Under. For Night Country, starring Jodie Foster and Kali Reis, most of the consumption is done on Max, with a fraction of the viewers, 0.6M-0.7M, coming from the original HBO telecast. This week’s Episode 5 has totaled 5 million cross platform viewers since its early Max debut on Friday.
