This brokerage, which participated in pump-and-dump schemes as it defrauded shareholders, is set to be the subject of a new feature documentary from the team behind Hulu’s WeWork: Or the Making and Breaking of a $47 Billion Unicorn doc. It will feature first-hand accounts from the people who made the firm tick and highlight Stratton Oakmont’s suspiciously successful and calamitous seven years in operation, and the lasting effect on its employees, victims and the financial industry as a whole. Dinerstein said, “Like many, I’ve been familiar with the absolutely insane Stratton Oakmont saga for some time, but seeing the early cuts of our film and hearing directly from the men and women who propelled the firm through its heyday has been a uniquely astonishing experience.
