Ariana DeBose is defending Angela Bassett's feelings of "disappointment" after losing at the Oscars to Jamie Lee Curtis.
DeBose, who presented the Actress in a Supporting Role category at the Oscars to Curtis in 2023 and was a guest co-host on the ABC talk show, gave her take on the situation. Again, that does not negate Jamie Lee’s right to the joy of having achieved something, because she, in her own right, has worked very hard for many years to carve something out for herself that is independent of her parents. Alyssa Farah Griffin remembered that she and Sunny Hostin attended a Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony where they lost too with the former prosecutor wearing her disappointment in her face.
