‘The Walking Dead’ Emmy Plans: Spinoff ‘The Ones Who Live’ Submits for Limited Series, Danai Gurira Up for Both Acting and Writing

AMC revealed its Emmy plans for "The Walking Dead" spin-off shows, as well as its other series including "Monsieur Spade," "Parish" and "Dark Winds."

“The Ones Who Live” picks up after the conclusion of the original series, reuniting beloved characters Rick Grimes and Michonne, portrayed by Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira. As the titular character, Reedus will aim for a lead drama actor nod, while his co-star Clémence Poésy, who plays nun Isabelle Carriere, will be considered for a supporting mention. Beyond the “Walking Dead” universe, AMC is submitting other projects for Emmy consideration, including Scott Frank’s neo-noir miniseries “Monsieur Spade” starring Clive Owen, the dramas “Parish” featuring Giancarlo Esposito and “Dark Winds” and the comedy “Cooper’s Bar” with Rhea Seehorn.
